By Katherine Tucker
Lance Cooper of the Cooper Firm has landed a spot on the leadership team to steer more than 100 lawsuits against General Motors through multi-district litigation in federal court in New York.
U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman in the Southern District of New York announced the co-lead counsel and executive committee that will lead the litigation against GM this past Friday. Furman is overseeing cases related to the GM ignition switch recall.
Cooper was one of 40 lawyers from around the country who appeared before Furman in a hearing Aug. 11 asking to be named to the 15-lawyer committee to lead the plaintiff’s efforts against GM.
