Georgia Police Seek Man Wanted for Fatal Accident

Whenever there is an accident, there are laws pertaining to when someone may leave the scene, especially in cases where people are injured in a crash. For one driver, allegedly leaving the scene of a fatal accident on a Georgia roadway has led to charges and police are actively seeking to arrest the man. The 21-year-old man in question has warrants for his arrest based on charges of vehicular homicide, driving without a valid license or being unlicensed, hit and run, and other charges.

The man sought by Georgia authorities allegedly struck an SUV with his Ford Expedition. The SUV overturned after the collision. The 52-year-old driver of the SUV was killed in the accident and his passenger, a 51-year-old woman, suffered injuries that required her to be air-lifted from the scene.

There is an ongoing investigation into the accident. Police are also still searching for the man they allege is responsible for the fatal hit-and-run crash. The charges against him resulting from this crash are extremely serious and police are reportedly seeking the public’s help in locating the man.

The driver who is alleged to have caused the fatal accident faces a long list of criminal charges and could potentially face jail time if he is found guilty of some or all of the charges. The woman who was injured and the family of the man killed in this car crash may be able to pursue civil action against the man in addition to the criminal charges he may face. A Georgia civil court can award monetary damages that may help families with the cost of lost wages, medical bills or funeral costs when they have lost a loved in a fatal accident.
