One Fatality One Injury In GA 400 Wreck

An accident on GA 400 caused by a wrong way driver has left one dead and one injured. The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Friday morning between Holcomb Bridge and Northridge roads.

The wrong way driver, Emily Royball, 22, was driving northbound in the southbound lanes when she hit a sport utility vehicle head-on. She suffered fatal injuries as a result of the accident.

The SUV driver, Kelly Stevens, was on his way to work when his car was struck. His car rolled over in the collision and he suffered a few broken bones.

Investigators are unsure as to when Royball got on GA 400 going the wrong way.

All of the southbound lanes were closed as a result of the collision, but were re-opened around 6 a.m.

This is the second fatal wrong-way driver crash on the highway in the past few weeks.

The first crash occurred on August 15 when Frampere Ingle got on Ga. 400 going southbound in the northbound lanes around 4:15 a.m., then slammed head-on into a car driven by Eric Hanks. Both Ingle and Hanks were killed in the collision.
