Rebuilding a Child – Orphan Aid Liberia

Rebuilding a Child – Orphan Aid Liberia

My family and I began to sponsor a little boy from an orphanage in the village of Balama, Liberia Africa around Christmas time in 2009. Our sponsorship meant that he would have food, clothing, medicine and schooling. These are things we take for granted here in the United States.

In June, 2012, I was able to meet Wesse in person as I traveled with Orphan Aid Liberia to the orphanage he lives in. I spent a little over a week at the orphanage. My eyes were opened to the reality of war (Liberia’s civil war ended in 2003) and the devastation it causes even to the next generation.

Due to the graciousness of my employer, I was able to take the time off to go meet the boy my family had been sponsoring. Mr. Cooper has been partnering with Orphan Aid Liberia since 2009. And in February 2013, Mr. Cooper will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro to help rebuild these children “From The Ground Up”. Please visit the website atwww.orphanaidliberia.com or www.facebook.com/orphanaidliberia for more information about the climb and how to be a sponsor. I have seen firsthand what a difference it can make!
