Every week we scour the internet to bring you the latest information on product and automotive recalls in this recurring series: Recall Round-Up.

This week we provide the details on recalls for Toyota Avalons, several Fiat Chrysler automobiles, Honda Motocross motorcycles, and Vornado re-announces a recall for their popular space heater after a reported death.

  • 2012 Toyota Avalon

    Toyota is recalling approximately 19,000 vehicles in the US due to manufacturing error. Some vehicles may be supplied with a front seat belt buckle is faulty and could affect how or if an airbag deploys. This can greatly increase the risk of injury in the event of a vehicle crash. Toyota will notify vehicle owners by mail in mid-September. You can also visit NHTSA website safercar.gov and enter your VIN to determine if your vehicle is affected. Toyota dealers will replace the part free of charge.

  • 2018-2019 Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Journey, Jeep Compass, and Jeep Cherokee

    NHTSA reported another Fiat Chrysler recall this month for their van and SUV models. The 2018-2019 Dodge Grand Caravans and Journeys, and Jeep Compass and Cherokee SUVs were equipped with rear brake caliper pistons that had insufficient coating. This can cause gas pockets to form and could potentially reduce rear brake performance. FCA will notify affected owners by the end of September, or you can contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and reference recall U86.

  • 2018 Honda CRF250R

    Honda issued a safety recall of their 2018 CRF250R motocross motorcycles. According to the manufacturer, the clutch outer can overheat and break causing the engine to lock-up. This can increase the risk of a crash. Contact your local authorized Honda motorcycle dealer to install a new kit free of charge.   • Vornado Space Heater

    Originally recalled in April (Recall Round-Up April 6), Vornado is making to sure to re-announce the recall for their VH101 personal space heater after a death has been reportedly linked to the overheating malfunction. The faulty space heaters were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond, Home Depot, Target and other nationwide retail stores from August 2009-March 2018. If you own one of these heaters, Vornado asks you discontinue use immediately and contact them for a full refund or replacement. Customer can reach Vornado reps by phone at 1-855-215-5131 or online www.vornado.com/recalls.
