General Motors Settles Case That Triggered Ignition-Switch Recall – Wall Street Journal

The settlement ends what could have been embarrassing litigation for GM as it works to put the ignition-switch recall that started early last year behind it. Other suits and several investigations, including one being conducted by the U.S. Justice Department, continue.

“In talking with the Meltons, they thought they have done all they can do short of a trial,” Mr Cooper said in an interview on Friday. “It has been five years since Brooke’s death and they wanted to bring this to a close.”
