Ford Recalls 2013 Escapes Due to Fire Hazard

Ford has recently recalled some 2013 Escapes because the engines could catch fire. There will be 11,500 Escapes recalled in the U.S. and Canada.

The engines of these cars could potentially catch fire because the fuel lines can crack and leak. The recall will only affect models with 1.6-liter four-cylinder engines built from April through July 11 this year.

About 4,800 defective Escapes were sold. Other cars with this problem are on dealer lots and will be repaired before they are sold.

For safety measures, Ford is picking up the cars from their customers and leaving them with a loaner car. There have been three reported fires, two at the factory and one from a customer who was driving the vehicle. No one was or has been injured due to this problem.
