Unfortunately, truck drivers are the cause of many injurious accidents. With their long hours and strict deadlines, truck drivers often work when they are tired and cannot properly focus on traffic or road conditions. Nevertheless, this does not excuse any accident that is induced by negligence.
In recent news, a tragic accident occurred in Hall County when a truck crashed into a car, killing a 24-year-old man from Clement, Georgia. According to the Georgia State Patrol, the truck accident occurred in the early hours of the morning. A car traveling southbound on GA 365 was struck by a northbound tractor-trailer that was attempting a left turn. The car’s driver was killed as a result of the collision.
The truck driver, a 42-year-old Augusta man, was taken to Northeast Georgia Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The fatal accident is currently under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol and the GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team. While the actual cause of the accident is still unknown, charges against the truck driver are probable.
The family and others who knew the young man will surely miss him as they struggle over his loss. As authorities investigate the collision, the surviving family of the victim may uncover details about precisely what occurred. They will have to decide what steps, if any, they wish to pursue. While nothing can truly replace a loss of life, the family of the victim may ensure that any party deemed negligent in the matter is held accountable to them. For this reason, a wrongful death suit could be a possibility for the victim’s loved ones.
