Brooke Melton’s deadly crash took place in March 2010, after GM emerged from bankruptcy.
Additionally, Brooke brought her Cobalt to a GM dealership after she had experienced an incident where the engine shutoff with no warning. It was returned to her the day before the crash after technicians cleaned the car’s fuel injection.
These key facts allowed the Melton’s attorney, Lance Cooper, to pursue their case, which ultimately brought to light GM’s corporate cover-up.
